Who We Are

LINKS – Catalysing Economic Growth in Northern Nigeria is a £67.5 million programme funded by UKAID through the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office.
We are working to catalyse development of a vibrant and diversified economy in the three key northern Nigerian states of Kano, Kaduna and Jigawa, with these collectively acting as a powerful engine of northern economic growth.
Our work benefits people and businesses in the states, while also creating real market opportunities for the wider North. This will help create a more equitable distribution of wealth and investment across the whole country.

Programme Structure

At LINKS, we provide facilitation expertise to bring together capital, ideas and governance, helping deliver services, products and public goods that make meaningful improvements to people in Northern Nigeria. We provide our expertise to public and private sector players via our four programme components;
Innovation component

Innovation

LINKS helps bring together ideas with the capital that innovators need to realise the full potential of their innovations. Our work makes the value chains and markets in which innovators operate more competitive and productive, which in turn makes attracting investment and finance easier, more viable and profitable.
Investment component

Investment

Viable opportunities for profitable investments in Northern Nigeria are being missed. We are providing investment facilitation, market intelligence and independent evidence to help unlock investment and finance across our target value chains.
Business Environment Reform (BER) component

Business Environment Reform (BER)

We work with government to ensure a sustainable policy and regulatory environment for investors. We do this by responding to business environment issues that are holding back investment and innovation in Northern Nigeria. We engage with Business Membership Organisations (BMOs), government and others to clear policy and regulatory hurdles and unleash innovation and investment in the North.
M & E component

MEL, GESI & Communication

Providing cross cutting support to the investment, innovation and BER components, the MEL Component is made up of three sub-components: Monitoring & Evaluation, Knowledge Management & Communication, Gender & Social Inclusion.
